52 – 60, The Broadway

All these cottages are listed grade II.

Nos. 52-56 are 17th century timber framed cottages re-fronted in 19th century brick with an old tiled roof. No. 56 includes a first floor room above the carriage arch between it and no. 58.

No. 58 is also a 17th century timber-framed building  re-fronted in 19th century brick with an old tiled roof.

No. 60 is 17th century timber-framed with red brick infill, and old tiled roof and a gabled eaves dormer. There is a vagrancy notice board on the front of the house (see photo to right).  This was the last house in Amersham before the hamlet of Bury End (now shown on the London Road West pages).
