The Hailey Family
The Hailey family have lived in Amersham since Tudor times and this page is about the descendants of Thomas Hailey born in in the early 1600s. It is based on a book first published privately in 1982 and re-published here by Amersham Museum in 2015 with permission of Kathleen Casey, the author.
We have also had the help of Barry and Margaret Renfrew who told us about the book and gave the Museum a copy. Barry’s mother Daphne, born Hailey, is a first cousin of the author. Barry and Margaret came to live in the area in 2008, not knowing then anything about the Hailey connections to Amersham.
